IPL is already a big hit. Last night saw record breaking innings from Brandon McCullum for Knight Riders to beat Bangalore Royal Challengers in a one-sided match.
Today’s match between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab at Mohali was a much awaited game for us as Chennai Super Kings is our favorite team in this tournament (primarily due to Dhoni).
The match saw lot of fireworks and Mike Hussey played an amazing innings. Dhoni did not do well with the bat but his team did really well in posting a record total of 240 in 20 overs and that is what matters for a good captain. What was suprising for me was that I was unable to spot Dhoni on the bench which his team was batting.
The Kings XI Punjab started really well and were going great while Hopes and Sangkarra were playing. Yuvraj hit some good shots but perished while trying to hit a six. After that it was downhill for them.
In the end Kings XI Punjab could manage 207.
I felt Dhoni rotated his bowlers well and brought in Murali at the right moments, ensuring a win.
Preity Zinta was there on the ground. Personally I do not see Preity as an ardent cricket fan and one can see from her actions and emtions that she is out of place. I guess its all about money for her. Shahrukh I felt was more into the game.
Overall it was a very entertaining game and we bish Chennai Super Kings the very best of luck.
