MS Dhoni’s cool image was further strengthened by his team’s victory over Bangalore Royal Challengers in one of the most exciting matches of the IPL so far.

The pitch seemed very bowler friendly with nice bounce and swing for the seamers late till the 17th over of the Chennai super Kings innings. Then it was all Dhoni and he blasted the bowlers all round the park to take Chennai Super Kings to a respectable and defendable total of 178/5.

It seemed like Bangalore Royal Challengers will make a mince meat of the Chennai Super Kings score with them being comfotably placed at 120+ for the loss of only 2 wickets and required rate around 8.5. Then it started to happen, wickets began to fall and in a space of about 33 balls Bangalore Royal Challenegrs lost 8 wickets to lose the match to Chennai Super Kings by 13 runs.

Earlier Dhoni decided to play another seamer in place of Murali which came in for some criticism but all is well that ends well.

During the award ceremony Dhoni mentioned that in the tension, their bowlers forgot to shine one side of the ball, due to which the ball did not swing early on. They realized their mistake after 15 overs and once they shined it, there was no looking back!
